Baseball - 2022 Season

Regular season*

All players registered for the Trois-Lacs Little League for the 2022 season will proudly wear the uniform of the Mariniers and will participate in regular season in one of the Little League categories according to their age group, skill level and experience.

Skill-based classification

The overlap of ages over different divisions gives the opportunity for each player to develop in the best baseball conditions possible. The idea is not to overload or discourage a player but to put them in a category where he will be able to enjoy progressing while gaining confidence.

Although most players have the skill set and knowledge to play with players their age, under certain exceptions we could place the player in a lower or higher category. We want each player to have a fair chance to learn, have fun and be with their friend, it is important that we ensure security of all.

For example, a 9-year-old player that has never played and has limited knowledge of the fundamental of baseball could be assigned to a lower category like coach pitch to ensure his development while gaining confidence. To face a player pitcher or missing a relay could seriously injure them or demotivate the player. On the other side, an 8-year-old that has strong knowledge of the game and is highly skilled (strong pitch and hits) could injure a teammate during practice or a game. This player would probably be pulled up to a higher category in order to ensure his development and safety of all. Classifications will be evaluated during spring training by the baseball committee and coaches.
